The Inlet – Weather moving in

I took this 2 nights ago at work – the weather was moving in.  We had a cold front come in and had heavy winds and seas and the boats and crews worked hard for a few days and nights.  I am glad to be off now for a few days and and working on a Chicken and Sausage Gumbo and am going to kick back.  Wishing you fair winds and following seas.

Best Regards

Jim Brickett

Rainbow Lynnhaven Inlet

I took these 2 images while at work at Lynnhaven Inlet today – Thur Oct 13, 2011 around 6:30 PM.  The boats are Pilot Boats.  The rain was moving through and the rainbow was awesome.   I wished I could get to a better vantage point to get more of it – but had to settle for what I could capture.  It was a great one to see.

Out of the Darkness and Into the Light

I took this at work last night with my iPhone.  It is on Lynnhaven Inlet, Virginia Beach, VA.  The clouds and lighting have been wild every day lately.  It has turned cool and feels invigorating.  It is time to get to the beach or the woods for a long walk and take in some of this fresh fall air.

Pilot Boat “Old Dominion”

I took this at work this evening on Lynnhaven Inlet.  The Pilot Boat “Old Dominion” returning to the station with Captain Joe Shcacherer off his outbound ship.   The cold front that never seems to get through is making some cool clouds.

Neptune Seafood Salad at Pier Cafe

Yesterday I stopped into the Pier Cafe on Lynnhaven Fishing Pier Virginia Beach for lunch for the first time – after hearing it was good.  I ordered the Neptune Seafood Salad and it blew my mind when I saw it and it tasted as great as it looked.  It had a ton of Crab and Shrimp and Mango Salsa and a sauce that I think was an Aioli.   I can’t wait to go back.  Photo of the dish below.
